Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be skilled at drawing to join?
No. 7:7 is designed for adults at any level. The focus is on rebuilding rhythm and confidence through structured sketchbook practice rather than producing polished work.
Is this a technical drawing course?
Technical ability may strengthen over the seven weeks, but the course centres on creative recovery rather than building skills per se.
Will I be drawing like a child?
No. We revisit the developmental stages to recover the functions they represent. We borrow elements from the way a child approaches drawing but the work is age-appropriate and applied in an adult way.
What materials do I need?
Please visit the materials list page for full details.
What if I miss a live session?
All sessions are recorded and available on replay, so you can catch up if you miss a live session.
How much time does it require each week?
One two-hour live session, plus half an hour daily of drawing and journalling at a time that suits you.
Do I have to show my work?
No. At the start of the course we agree that sketchbooks remain private. Even the expectation of being seen can change how we draw and how we judge our own work.
Is this therapy?
No. 7:7 is an art course grounded in developmental theory. If complex feelings arise, speaking with a qualified counsellor is advisable.
What happens after the seven weeks?
A follow-on course is in development, moving from sketchbook practice into larger-scale work with wet media. To stay informed, please subscribe to the newsletter.
